Courage comes in many forms and can be found in the most unexpected places. Today, we are honored to share the inspiring story of one of our students, Malia, who demonstrated incredible bravery and resilience at a very young age.
Malia’s Act of Bravery
Malia’s story takes us back to when she was in 5th grade. Like any other day, she went to school, ready to learn and spend time with her classmates. However, this day turned out to be anything but ordinary. In an unforeseen and alarming incident, Malia was attacked by two male students. The situation was tense and could have easily escalated into something much worse.
But Malia was not just any 5th grader. She had undergone training that equipped her with the skills to protect herself and others in times of danger. Drawing on her training, she acted swiftly and decisively. Not only did she manage to defend herself, but she also protected her classmate from harm.
The Importance of Preparedness
