Are you tired of letting fear hold you back? Do you want to feel empowered, confident, and strong? Then it’s time to develop a fearless mindset!
Fear is a natural emotion that all of us experience at some point in our lives. Whether it’s the fear of failure, the fear of the unknown or the fear of being vulnerable, it can hold us back and prevent us from achieving our goals. However, at Evolve Training Center, we believe that with the right mindset, you can overcome any fear and achieve anything you set your mind to.
Are you ready to embrace your challenges and failures as opportunities for growth and learning, rather than sources of anxiety and defeat? Together we can stare fear in the eyes and say I am worth defending. If you are ready to develop a fearless mindset characterized by courage and resilience, then this message is for you!
There are three pillars to guide you in combating fear: the fearless mindset, verbal assertiveness, and practical self-defense. By combining these three elements, we aim to equip you with the tools and techniques needed to break free from the mental and physical restraints that fear can place upon you.
Pillar #1: The fearless mindset. Here, we set the intention that “I am worth defending!”
It’s about recognizing your own self-worth and believing that you deserve to be happy, achieve your dreams, and be loved for who you are.
In my last blog, “Unmasking the Myth: Why Stress is Just an Illusion,” I discussed the concepts I teach to combat fear beginning with setting the intention and the truth.
Repeat after me:
“I…was brought into this world to fulfill my God given purpose.”
“I…have a right to be happy!”
“I…deserve to achieve my dreams!”
“I…am worthy of love!”
“I…have the right to be ME!”
Pillar #2: Verbal Assertiveness
When someone invades your personal space, you need to be ready, confident, and stern. By setting your boundaries and speaking up, you let the other person know that you are aware and in control of the situation. This same approach can be applied to your own thoughts and feelings. If you begin to doubt yourself or feel overwhelmed by fear, use your voice to tell yourself to STOP.
Create an anchor as a reminder of your intentions you set in Pillar #1.
What I do is I also create an anchor. Your anchor is a reminder of your intention you set in Pillar #1. Ex. I tell myself “Never give up!” Once I tell myself and repeat it, it’s a reminder that I have a destiny and a purpose to fulfill. I have plans for my life, people are counting on me! At that point I do not let FEAR get any closer. Make your anchor powerful, strong in your being and one that automatically pops into your mind.
Pillar #3: Practical self defense (my favorite part) where we combine the physical and mental aspects of combating fear.
Fear is a state of mind. You have the power to fight it off and stand up to it.
By learning and practicing self-defense techniques such as front choke escape and standing into base, you not only develop muscle memory for the physical movements but also a strong mindset that helps you combat your mental attacker. By standing up to your fears and breaking free from their hold, you become empowered and more confident in yourself and your abilities.
Front Choke Escape
This is when someone tries to choke you from the front.
Your objective is to break free and get to a safe place.
Mentally set your intention, and when you perform the technique you visualize not only breaking free physically but breaking free from that fear that is stopping you.
Standing into Base
This is a technique that demonstrates the proper way to get up from the ground to standing. Here you are able establish a good base and protect yourself.
I encourage you to practice these techniques as often as you need to until you’ve developed the muscle memory.
Not only will it help you to physically get away from an attacker but even more so stand up to the attacker that lives inside of you.
A fearless mindset is important for a number of reasons. First and foremost, it allows us to pursue our goals and dreams without being held back by fear of failure or rejection. It allows us to take risks, try new things, and push ourselves beyond our comfort zones. A fearless mindset also helps us cope with adversity and overcome obstacles. When we face setbacks or challenges, a fearless mindset helps us stay focused, determined, and optimistic.
When you are also able to develop your self defense techniques, you will feel stronger, confident and ready to take on anything.
At Evolve Training Center, we believe that everyone has the potential to live a fearless life. By implementing these three pillars into your daily routine, you can break free from the chains of fear and live the life you deserve. Remember, you are worth defending! So, look fear straight in the eye and let it know that you are not going to let it hold you back any longer. With the right mindset, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
